3rd Grade Play and Field Trippin'

The third grade play this year was Daniel and the Lions den.  Anderson was one of the lions.  He said he tried out for the part of a lion because he didn't want to have to learn all the lines of the main characters and he didn't want to sing...ha!  He was a cute little lion (even if they did look more like bears than lions).  And he still got to sing a little.

After the play, the third grade had their field trip to a cotton farm.  He got to be part of the lesson as a share cropper.

And he got to pick some cotton.

Happy Halloween

The kids decided they were going to sit Halloween out this year...until Halloween day.  Then they decided not to pass up the candy overload.  So we threw together some costumes and trekked around the neighborhood.

Evan's Tree

Evan's tree is always so beautiful in the fall.  Now that all three boy's trees are getting big, our backyard is a beautiful red all fall.

Isn't it gorgeous!

Another favorite guy and another birthday

My handsome dad celebrated a big birthday.  We had a wonderful adults only dinner and then a celebration with the kids.

Happy 70th Dad!  You don't look a day over 65 :)

Owen and Anderson enjoyed decorating the cake.

Let them work

We are ready for these fellas to start earning their keep.  Owen has been doing a great job learning to work the lawn mower, and we have had conversations about his being entrepreneurial and soliciting work from the neighbors.

Corn Mazin' It

The kids and I love a corn maze.  We made it through all 3 that were set up and found all of the punch stations.  It was a tad hot, but a fun time.

We figured out that if you always turn the same direction, you get through it a lot quicker.

Happy Birthday to our favorite!

Our favorite guy had a birthday.  We enjoyed celebrating him with his favorite red velvet cake.

Aaron, The boys and I love you so much and can't imagine our lives without you.  May you celebrate many many more birthdays with us!

Not officially a birthday present, but since it was a couple of days after the big day, we will count it as a present :).  Aaron and I enjoyed a great night out and great seats with ZBB...always such a great show.  The band is crazy talented.

Chapel Award

Anderson was recognized with the chapel award.  It's always fun to hear what the teacher's notice about them.  She called out his responsibility...which is something we've been focusing really hard on at home.  I hope and pray that he continue to improve.

We got a bonus for our time in chapel...Owen's strings group performed too.

Anderson's recent artwork...radeachon = radiation.  HA!

Baseball - Pirates

Owen's confidence got quite a boost this fall season.  He played 1st, 3rd and even pitched a couple of times.  He batted much better than in prior seasons.  It was fun to watch him enjoy himself.

Baseball - Riverdogs

Anderson's baseball season got off to a late start due to his surgery, but he was back to full strength in just a couple of weeks.  Both kids had good coaches and enjoyed the season

 He loved playing catcher.

Spirit Week

Spirit week was so much fun.  Fortunately, Anderson was back to school for all of the fun.

Day 1:  Wacky Tacky Day

Day 2:  Career Day

Day 3:  All American Day

Day 4:  Neon Day

Day 5:  School Spirit...apparently they were a little tired by Friday.

Anderson decided that he'd like to add a little drama to the start of 3rd grade by getting an appendectomy.  He was such a brave little guy through the entire ordeal.  He's definitely a tough cookie...and all male...he tried not to take his pain medicine!

Poor little guy overnight prior to surgery.  We were all completely exhausted.  The hospital is not a place of rest!

Waiting for an ultrasound to check his appendix.  This kid has his daddy's pain tolerance...who smiles that big with appendicitis?!

In pre-op...broke my heart to leave him to head back to surgery.

At home during recovery.  He's such a trooper!
