Birthdays, Take 2!

We celebrated birthdays with Grandma Sue a little later.  Anderson was so excited to get a watch.  Maybe it will speed up Mr. Slows!

Owen was excited about the 'I Survived' and Who Was books from Tante.  We have had a hard time finding books to keep him interested.  He enjoyed these and asked for more.

And then we did some Wii bowling.

Steel Snuggles!

The crazy puppy is starting to settle down a little more each month.

It was only 90 degrees, so Anderson thought Steel might be cold and need a blanket.

Snuggled up...Anderson fell asleep snuggling his pup...pure sweetness!

Wesley used to sit this way on the stairs too.

Happy 8th Birthday!

The big one is 8!  Time has really flown by!

He spent his morning at track out (his request) and then we had a nice family lunch, time at the arcade, back to school shopping and ended with a family trip to do an estimate.  The kids decided that estimates aren't much fun...but hey, we have to pay for the fun someway!

Arcade fun...Owen hit the jackpot on one game and got 1,000 tickets!

After dinner, his menu was steak, loaded mashed potatoes and broccoli, he got to open his gifts.

 A space pen!

 Nerf gun!

Tomahawk!

And a red velvet cake (if it's daddy's favorite then it's his favorite)!

Happy Birthday to our sweet big boys!

Better Late than Never

The boys were supposed to get a basketball goal for their 5th/7th birthdays.  Mommy and Daddy were a little slack...but hey, it was installed before Owen's 8th birthday!  We've been having fun shooting some hoops.  Owen and Aaron bested some friends of ours in a father/son matchup.

Proper Nutrition

The fellas have gotten into reading food labels.  Anderson is very queued into how much protein everything has.  Owen just reads it all.  Not that the meal below is the most nutritious...but they were reading the box just the same.  They have really enjoyed being together this summer.  We've had our share of fighting, but we've had a lot of really nice 'brother' moments.

Dogs

We are back to a single dog house.  Our sweet old girl Wesley had to be put down.  She was 15 and had been with us for over 14 years.  She was a good girl and will be missed.

Here are some recent pics of Steel.  He is pretty much full grown now.  He still has a lot of energy, but is a really good puppy.
