Charlie Brown

The Senior play this year was Charlie Brown, so the elementary school had 'dress like a character day.'  Anderson had an easy time deciding who he'd be!  I think that day will go down as his favorite day of kindergarten...his teacher even let him keep blankie at his desk all day!

Owen decided to go as Snoopy (in case you can't tell).  Anderson..a natural Linus!

Snow (and Ice)

We got our first snow and second ice of the season.  Unfortunately, we were too sick to go outside and play in it, but I did get a couple of pictures of Steely boy.

I love his expression here...haha!

 And his tail here...

And since I don't have any snow pics of the about a couple of the bulletin board for Anderson's class. Isn't it adorable!

Anderson wote thank you notes for his basketball coaches...

That's the referee in the top center.

He actually did try to draw his teammates and identified several of them in the picture.

Owen's buddy Jose made him a get well card and dropped it by our house.

And Emma wrote Anderson a note...

Owen had a math project related to his valentines box. He had to design, measure and draw the box to scale on graph paper.  His class voted on a few categories related to the boxes and he lost in a runoff for coolest box.

The dog tags say 'Valentine'

We kicked off Valentine's Day with the last basketball games and trophies.

We then spent the afternoon at a birthday party for a preschool buddy.  The party was snow sledding...Anderson said it was 'creepy', but Owen had a blast.  I don't think Anderson was feeling great after being sick earlier in the week.

Parenting can be hard...really really hard.  January was a tough month around our house...our little people are lacking in some self-control and obedience.  February is so far off to about the same start as both kids came home with notes from their teachers...again.

But, God's mercies are new every morning and he reminded me of that when the kids got up this morning and began playing church.

Owen was the preacher and located and read our church's theme verse for the year which says, As ye have therefore received Christ Jesus the Lord, so walk ye in him.  Colossians 2:6

He then proceeded to 'preach' from a children's devotional and then Anderson led the singing.  They closed their service in prayer.

Yes, parenting is hard...but seeing God through them is amazing!

A funny tidbit...while Owen was preaching, Anderson stopped him to say that a bottle near him had his Mt. Dew in it.  Aaron takes a Mt. Dew with us to church almost every Sunday.  :)  And one of the made up songs may have been about hunting a bear versus a worship song...but he did lead a worship song too.

Anderson says...

When asked what gifts the wise men brought Jesus, he responded, 'Gold, Frankenstein and Myrrh.'

One morning while getting ready for school, he was upstairs singing (to the tune of the theme song from Christmas vacation), 'It's that time, naked time is here.'

And, again signing...this time in the car, 'I like big butts and cryptonite.'
