Yes, everyone got a trophy.  And they are certainly happy that they did.  We are happy that they played and had fun and made some new friends.

Kindergarten Field Trip

Anderson also recently went on a field trip.  He went to a local dairy farm and had a class on pumpkins and their life cycle, saw and learned about some of the animals (chickens, llamas, goats, donkey, sheep and rabbit), and went on a hay ride to see the cows and milking operation.  Not so kindergarten appropriate was the cow we rode past who was giving birth.  Anderson didn't seem to phased by it, but the little girl sitting next to me was full of questions.

Singing a song about pumpkins.

2nd Grade Field Trip

Owen had his first field trip in second grade.  We went to a local park after he finished his insect study at school.  We started off at the pond and had some nets to try to capture water creatures.  Lots of mud involved in searching for little critters...big fun for 2nd graders!

Then we had time to look for flying, crawling, and hopping insects.

Soccer Stars

Their soccer uniforms look like we are ready for Christmas with the red and green.  We are having a lot of fun playing soccer.

Owen started the year off with 4 goals in his first game.  Anderson is closing the season strong with goals in the last 2 games and one game left in the season.

 Owen is #9

Chapel Award

Anderson is doing great in kindergarten.  He's loving his teachers and his new friends.

He received the first chapel award of the year.  When the principal said he could go sit with his parents, he said 'Yes' while doing an arm pump.  Oh how I love that sweet boy!  We are so proud of how well he is doing.

And his first progress report of the year...all of the skills listed were checked in the 'mastered' column.

He is working so hard on not sucking his thumb in class.  His teachers have made him a special sticker chart.  If he goes 2 days in a row without sucking his thumb, he gets to go to the prize box in his classroom. If he goes 3 days, he gets to go to one of the other kindergarten classes.
