Little Buddy

A moment to say, awww....

Aaron often wears his slippers without putting them all the way on.  Little buddy, Anderson was so proud of himself for copying and then put his slippers next to daddy's.  He was a little disappointed that his didn't stay turned down like daddy's, but daddy helped him out and got it to stay.  I love that these boys want to be just like their daddy...he's the best!

Owen started basketball a few weeks ago.  When we signed him up, I was more than a bit concerned that it may be a disaster.  But, he's been practicing on the playground at school and I was surprised how well he did shooting the ball.

His league is run very similar to soccer in that it's a teaching no teams and so far, no scrimmages, although I understand we will get to those.  He's learned the names of the lines on the court and some dribbling skills to practice at home...all while playing fun games.  And, he seems to really be enjoying it.

Lined up to do some relay work.
Look at that shooting form!  He's in the grey on the left.

Chapel Award

Today was a special day for Owen...he received this week's chapel award for his class.

The school secretary called me Monday to let me know and so that we could plan to be there.  Here's a glimpse into classic mom vs dad brains, which makes me first thought upon knowing that it was the school calling was that Owen was sick or hurt.  When I told Aaron the school called, his first thought was, 'oh no, what did he do now.'

What a special time these kids get to have each week during chapel.  I really enjoyed being there for it.  The speaker had such energy and connected with the kids by using relatable examples and having them interact with her.  She presented the Lamb's Book of Life and how our names can become written in it.  She started off with last year's school yearbook and explaining how/why the children were listed in it...because they were part of the school family.  And how/why, the kindergartners were not (this chapel is for K-2), but would be in the next one.

Listening while the principal reads why his teacher selected him this week...

There is a child selected from each class.  Guess who else received the award this week?!  How funny that he and Macie got selected the same week.  His teacher told me she had no idea that Macie was also selected this week.

Anderson's Thanksgiving Program

Anderson did a great job with his program and feast.  He's definitely a ham!!

Showing off the kiss Miss Stephanie gave him for doing a great job.

Because he goes 5 days a week, he did the program 2x (some kids are just t/th or m/w/f).  Daddy and Grandma JuJu went on one day and Papa and Mommy on the other.

In retrieving Thanksgiving pics, I found these recent gems...

Doing his 'homework' practicing writing his name.

Owen's Thanksgiving Celebration

He had a party and then all of the kids sang some songs for us.

The 'feast'.  Would you believe that the bottomless pit ate almost all of this, plus an extra 8 or so nuggets and came home asking for more food.  I fear the grocery bill when they are teenagers!

Sugar cookies decorated to look like pumpkin pie.  They were adorable!
Ready to sing their the Indian vests they made.
 How to cook a turkey.
