Too sweet

I wish I had a great picture to go along with this anecdote, but you'll just have to conjure up images of my cuties in your head.

Eating breakfast yesterday morning, Owen said 'Mommy, can I get up to give Brother a kiss?'

How can I say no to that! Of course you can, buddy! And, thanks for using those manners we've been trying so hard to teach you!

Spaghetti Dinner

A requirement of being in our family is a love of spaghetti...no worries, Anderson is here to stay!

2010 Garden

Did you plant your garden yet? I did and the goodness is just starting to come through the ground. We expanded a little this year...we have blueberry bushes, cantaloupe, sugar snaps (or snuga snaps as Owen calls them), green beans, spinach, 2 varieties of tomatoes, hot banana peppers, jalapeno peppers, cucumbers, yellow squash, zucchini and okra.

Here's a picture of Owen when the garden was about 1/3 planted. He asked if he could play in the garden. I told him sure, just stay away from the white lines. He replied, 'there's no lions over there. Mommy, you're teasing.'

Baby Elise

My second niece, Elise Kathryn was born yesterday at 10:11 and weighed in at 7lbs 6oz. I was the first member of her extended family she met! She is absolutely beautiful and looks a lot like her big sister Julia. Mom and baby are both doing great.

Cute pic of Elisa and her Papa.

College Zoo

We met up with my college roommate and suitemates and their kids at the zoo last weekend. We had a blast and it was so fun to see them all and catch up. The kids did great and the weather was beautiful.

Sleepover with Grandma

With the early morning we had with Anderson's surgery, Owen had his first sleepover with Grandma. He was so excited and packed his own toothbrush and toothpaste. He had a separate bag that he carried around the various toy stations in our house to pack a few things from each area. He looked a little uncertain as they drove off, but he did great with Grandma (and Mommy and Daddy survived!.
All of my pictures are blurry...he was in a hurry to hit the road.

Surgery

Anderson had his surgery last Friday and is recovering like the champ he is. He was pretty miserable on Friday and a bit fussy on Saturday and Sunday, but by Sunday night was back to his normal self.

Some pictures from the hospital...

The early morning wakeup, 2 hour pre-surgery hospital wait and the no food or drink after midnight started to wear on him...

Getting comfortable with the mask...

In recovery, before he woke up. When he did wake up, he was not happy that he was unable to suck his thumb with the iv in.

Yard Work

Aaron had 10 yards of mulch delivered. It's a good thing he has a good helper to get it all spread out.

Brother love

This wasn't the best year the Tarheels have had, but we're still sporting the baby blue.

Park

We took advantage of beautiful spring weather and went to the park and lunch with the Fitts Family.

Anderson had fun on the swing.

Owen was talking yesterday about going back to ride this duck again.

Then Owen took Anderson for a ride.

I think Owen would have stayed in this swing all day.

Owen Quotables

A few more Owen quotables to share...

We were running errands and saw a beater truck. Owen said 'Mommy, that's a fancy truck.'

He put his t-shirt on backwards before bed the other night. When he got up the next morning, he looked down and asked where his letters went. I told him they were on the back and he looked down again and said 'my letters broke.'

I told him I needed to run some errands, he replied with 'Daddy, mommy needs to run you.'

Zoo Visit

We went to the zoo a few weeks ago and I have finally gotten around to posting the pictures. We went the first really warm weekend of the year and the animals seemed to be loving the warm weather as much as we did.

We are heading back again this weekend with my college roommies and their kids. I'm looking forward to a fun time with my friends!

Happy Easter

He is risen indeed!

I hope you all had a wonderful Easter. We had beautiful weather and a great time with family and friends.

We started celebrating a week before with a local egg hunt with cousin Madelyn...it was a little cold (that was before the heat wave arrived). Waiting for the hunt to start...

Anderson and I cheered Owen and Daddy on from the sidelines.

The Easter Bunny made an appearance.

Sat, we had a family get-together and egg hunt. Anderson thought it was more fun to try to eat the eggs than to hunt for them.

The boys came downstairs Easter morning to find that the Easter Bunny had hopped by the house.

Owen opened an egg, found a peep and said 'This is from Target, Mommy'.

After filling Owen up with sugar, we got all spiffied up and headed out to church...aren't these boys handsome!

After church and naps, we headed to my sister's and had a great time.
