Baby Phereby

We've got a new baby in the family...Congratulations to Aaron's brother and his wife who welcomed Phereby Noelle on December 15. We were all so excited to go meet our niece/cousin.

Owen has been talking about baby Phereby a lot...he loves babies!

Just a question today for moms of girls.

Does hearing 'Hey, Mom, Watch this' strike the same level of anxiety in you as it does in me?

Their hair grows way too fast. Daddy decided to take matters into his own hands.

Anderson, How do you want your hair cut?

He did really well, much better than I thought he would.

Crazy Hat Night

A few weeks ago, the Awana theme for the night was Crazy Hat. Our big guy won for the Cubbies. It was a joint effort. Aaron cut the bottom out and I glue-gunned the lid on and then the snowman onto a visor.

Owen was walking a bit like a British soldier...he had to be pretty upright to keep his top heavy hat from falling off.

His prize was some stickers, stamps and a cookie in a stocking. He is pretty sticker and stamp crazy and of course loves cookies so this was a great prize. The next day, he told us that he'd like Santa to fill the stocking up with chewing gum.

We've never been to visit Santa. I'm not much for malls this time of year or paying for an overpriced not great photo or being around so many snot nosed little ones.

Owen has quite a bit of excitement around Christmas this year. We've done a lot of talking about Christmas being a celebration of Jesus' birthday. But, Santa has also entered the picture and Owen had been asking this year to go see Santa. A local toy store had a Santa event where visits with Santa were by appointment. They also had crafts for the kids, hot chocolate and a huge play area.

Courtney let us go with Madelyn at her appointment, which was earlier than ours. Owen was so excited and hopped right onto Santa's lap and told him he'd been a good boy, that he would like a weed eater, trimmer and blower just like his daddy's and that Anderson would like a kitchen. I think Santa's head was spinning with the speed that Owen was talking. Anderson and Madelyn were less thrilled with the you can see.

Anderson's poor sad post crying eyes. Santa was reacting to Madelyn who had just told Santa she wanted a baby doll.

They were excited to see Rudolph. Anderson was getting low like Rudy.

Thanks Aunt Sandra for taking these great pics!

We've had a rather chilly start to our winter and have had snow twice already with another shot in the forecast this week. Fortunately, what we've had so far hasn't caused any driving issues.

Owen was super excited to head out to play in the snow. Now, we did not have Buffalo snowfall amounts, but we did have fun in the little we had. Ignore the fact that he is wearing pj bottoms...for some reason he almost always changes into pjs at some point during nap time. We were so excited to go out into the snow that we didn't bother to change.

I wanted Owen to pose with some of our exterior Christmas decorations and this is what I got. The flag is from the parade. And that is Jordan in the middle. The dogs were loving it too.

Who needs to roll his own snowman when you've got this one?

Owen, Anderson and I played in the front yard for a bit. When I decided I was cold and wanted to go in, Owen decided to head to the backyard and he played out there another 30 minutes or so by himself.

Defrosting by the fire.

A full shot of our Christmas stockings.

While Owen was outside, Anderson was doing some cooking in his long-johns.

Christmas Parade

The busyness of the season is upon us...we've been to the Christmas parade, had some snow, been to visit Santa, been to my niece's Christmas pageant, are preparing for Owen's Christmas program and our many family Christmas celebrations. Lots of pictures to hold on or maybe it is be patient for me to have time to post.

We kicked off the season with a Christmas parade. Grandma Ju-Ju, Courtney and Madelyn joined us. The highlight for Owen was the man in red at the end of the parade, oh, and the candy.

Munching on some snacks waiting for the action.

Anderson and Mady playing the slide along the curb game.

It was cold...we were dressed in layers. The kids were a little like the kid from The Christmas Story movie.

Waving to...

This guy...

I may have had a stroke of genius. If Anderson has a successful potty visit, he gets an M&M. Well I can't give one an M&M and not the other, right? So Owen also gets an M&M if Anderson goes. The genius part...Owen has an incentive to sit and entertain Anderson while we are waiting (and waiting) for a success.

Mommy, I want Anderson to go pee-pees in the potty so I can have a candy. And, just in case you are wondering, pee-pees on the floor do not warrant an M&M...yes, we've had a few of those.

Maria sent me these fun pictures earlier in the week. You think he's picking something out for his mommy?

Fall arrived late this year and seemed to turn quite quickly into winter. I have pictures of the Christmas parade and of our first snow, but first a few fall pictures.
These kids are workers!
